INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION
12th EDITION 2007 - LIVIGNO - ITALY

Livigno, December 3-7

Lungolivigno, in cooperation with the “Associazione Art in Ice”, is organising the 12th annual ART in ICE competition for 2007/2008

Participation conditions

  • 10 teams of 3 sculptors from the projects presented to the office will be selected by a qualified jury to participate in the competition.
  • The artists may use any techniques and manual tools they like for the execution of their works.
  • "ART IN ICE" is the theme of this competition. Each artist is free to give a free interpretation of the art and the snow.
  • Participation in the selection is subject to the timely delivery of a project proposal, the coupon and a professional curriculum.
  • The proposals must be clear as possible: photos, sketches or other images are appreciated.
  • The position of the snow-sculptures will be chosen by a drawing.
  • The dimensions of the snow-block are 3 mt. height, 3 mt. width and 3 mt. depth.
  • Chain saws and other electric devices, internal or external supports and colouring substances are forbidden.
  • The sculpture must be completely finished on all 4 sides.
  • Board and lodging in hotels for the artists are at expense of the Organization. Extras are not included.
  • Each Italian team of artists will be given a refund of documented expenses of € 420. € 780 will be refunded to each European team and € 1.300 to each team from the rest of the world.
  • Each artist will receive a certificate of participation.

Timing

  • Registration forms and proposals must arrive at the Organization’s offices no later than 20th October 2007. The 10 selected teams of artists will receive a written communication no later than the 26th October 2006. All snow-sculptures must be sculpted and finalised on December 4, 5 and 6, 2007.
  • Expected arrival: evening of December 3rd. Departure: December 7th in the fternoon.

Prizes

  • Art in Ice Judges’ Award
  • Spectators' Award
  • The awards ceremony will take place the December 7, 2007.
  • The Judges' Award will be awarded by a commission formed of representatives from the world of art and culture.
  • The Spectators' Award will be awarded to the sculpture which has received the most votes from the public at the close of the competition.
